We are creating an exciting new artisan bakery, café, and specialty food destination centered around exceptional handcrafted food, fresh ingredients, and outstanding hospitality. We are looking for a motivated Prep Cook who enjoys cooking from scratch, takes pride in quality, and wants to help develop an exciting café menu.
This is an opportunity to help build something from the ground up.
Position Summary
The Prep Cook will prepare fresh ingredients, produce café menu items, assist with menu development, maintain kitchen organization, and ensure every item meets our high quality standards. We are looking for someone who enjoys making simple food exceptionally well.
Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh vegetables, meats, cheeses, sauces, spreads, and salads
- Prepare sandwiches, soups, breakfast items, and café specials
- Assist in developing new menu items and recipes
- Follow standardized recipes and portion controls
- Maintain exceptional food quality and presentation
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed
- Receive and organize deliveries
- Rotate inventory and minimize waste
- Keep the kitchen clean and organized
- Work closely with ownership to build an outstanding café menu
- Assist with catering and seasonal menu offerings
Ideal Qualifications
- 2+ years of prep cook, line cook, café, deli, bakery, or restaurant experience
- Passion for fresh, handcrafted food
- Experience preparing sandwiches, soups, salads, breakfast, and light lunch items
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Works efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
