As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play an important role in delivering the high level of care, compassion, and attention to detail that sets our pharmacy apart and helps our patients feel valued and supported.
Job Duties:
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications, including data entry, prescription processing, labeling, counting, packaging, and inventory management.
- Process and troubleshoot third-party insurance claims and obtain refill authorizations from prescribers as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting patients in person and over the phone, answering questions, and directing inquiries to the appropriate team member.
- Receive, unpack, organize, and restock inventory; monitor medication expiration dates and notify pharmacists of inventory needs.
- Process sales transactions, payments, returns, and exchanges while ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Support pharmacy clinical services by assisting with patient intake, documentation, collection of required information, and other administrative tasks.
- Deliver medications to patients and designated facilities when required.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA, state, and federal privacy regulations.
- Perform all duties under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
- ·Build meaningful relationships with patients by providing personalized service and helping create a welcoming, patient-centered experience.
Requirements
- Active and in good standing Pharmacy Technician registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP)
- Active Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) ExCPT certification
- Pharmacy Technician Trainees with an active TSBP trainee registration will also be considered
- Active Driver’s License and automotive insurance
- Bilingual
Preferred
- Prior experience in community pharmacy
- Ability to use computer applications, specifically Microsoft Office Suite
