Assistant Teachers
- work directly with preschool-aged children to lead and supervise play-based learning activities
- work with lead teacher to implement lesson plans, create learning materials and set up classroom activities that help children reach educational goals
- help to maintain a safe, nurturing and loving Christian environment in the classroom
Qualifications: High school or college graduate with experience working with young children; some training and experience in teaching preferred; Christian faith; completed background screening.
Assistant Teachers should have:
- experience working with young children
- good communication skills
- understanding of childhood development
- ability to create and maintain orderly classroom environment
- enthusiasm for being part of a teaching team
- personal and professional references
Staff hours are 8:30 pm-12:15 pm, Monday-Friday. Additional pay offered for teachers who supervise lunch (12:15-1:00 pm). School year begins in late August and ends in late May. Compensation above average for Raleigh area preschools. Staff discount on tuition. Paid time off. Paid continuing education and CPR training.
This is a 9-month, part-time, program staff position, primarily consisting of teaching duties and classroom maintenance. Staff members will be employed on a yearly contract signed by both the Director and the staff member.
