POSITION SUMMARY:
This FULL-TIME Prevention Services Supervisor position is located at 6060 Jefferson Ave, Newport News, VA 23605, and is $34.00 per hour. The Prevention Services Supervisor manages daily program operations and supervises the PAT expansion team, overseeing implementation of the Parents as Teachers home visiting program. This role ensures compliance with model fidelity standards across personnel, program enrollment, customer service delivery, home visit execution, data management, and reporting. Additional job duties may be assigned as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Supervise a team of Family Support Specialists and Administrative support staff, providing leadership, guidance, and reflective supervision.
- Oversee implementation of the Parents as Teachers home visiting program, ensuring compliance with model fidelity standards.
- Manage and monitor screens/assessments dosage, frequency, and execution of home visits across the team.
- Track and document customer engagement and outcomes, ensuring PAT program benchmarks are met.
- Oversee program enrollment and customer service delivery processes.
- Manage data reporting responsibilities, maintaining accurate and timely program records.
- Monitor personnel performance and support professional development within the team.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to support the PAT expansion initiative.
- Uphold program policies, safety protocols, and quality standards to ensure consistent and effective service delivery.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of family support principles, child development, parent education practices, and evidence-based home visiting programs.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required.
- Strong assessment, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage program operations and staff performance in a structured environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team leadership role.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills related to program compliance, family safety, and child well-being.
- Must be able to operate a City vehicle (Non-CDL); valid driver's license required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree required; combination of education and experience in the human services field will be considered.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Infant Mental Health endorsement and experience in Reflective Supervision strongly desired.
- Prior experience in family support, parent education, child welfare, home visiting programs, or case management preferred.
BACKGROUND CHECK: State/Local/Sex Offender/CPS check required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel locally to conduct site visits and supervise staff.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Prolonged periods of sitting for documentation and administrative tasks.
- Ability to navigate various home environments safely.
- Ability to lift and carry materials or files as needed.
