Duties
The Part-Time Center Associate delivers world-class customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages for courier shipment and operating copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices. The Associate expertly advises our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry.
The ideal candidate has previous retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a high school diploma or GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. He or she must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.
- Perform notarial acts in accordance with state laws, including witnessing signatures and verifying identities to authenticate legal documents.
- Assist clients with document preparation, ensuring all paperwork complies with legal standards and is properly executed.
- Manage case files using case management software and document management systems such as iManage to ensure organized and secure record keeping.
- Conduct legal research and review documents for accuracy, proofreading for errors or inconsistencies before submission.
- Support paralegals and attorneys by drafting legal documents, correspondence, and summaries utilizing Microsoft Office tools.
- Handle data entry tasks efficiently while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information related to client cases.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear explanations of procedures and answering questions regarding notarizations or document requirements.
- Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries
- Continuously practices good listening skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadership
- Takes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutions
- Takes action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trends
- Operates all equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and is willing to teach others
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills
- Strong analysis skills to review legal documents and identify discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Paralegal experience or law office background that provides familiarity with legal terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in legal drafting, Word processing, and proofreading to produce precise documentation.
- Technical proficiency with case management software, document management systems (like iManage), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple cases simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
- Customer service expertise with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse clients.
- Experience handling confidential information responsibly, understanding the importance of privacy in legal settings.
- Knowledge of legal research methods and familiarity with legal discovery processes to support case preparation.
