Local CDL-Class A Truck Driver – Home Daily
Ohio Pickling & Processing is seeking an experienced Local CDL-Class A Truck Drivers to join our growing transportation team. Since establishing our trucking department in 2020, we have continued to expand our fleet and invest in late-model Kenworth tractors, adding new equipment each year to provide our drivers with safe, reliable, and well-maintained trucks. Our fleet is paired with 18-speed manual transmissions and 6- and 8-axle flatbed trailers equipped with sliding tarp systems because we believe quality equipment helps our drivers perform at their best.
This position is ideal for drivers with a minimum of two (2) years of steel hauling and flatbed experience who take pride in operating safely and professionally. Our drivers run local routes, allowing you to be home every day while enjoying consistent, year-round work with a growing company. We are looking for safety-minded professionals who are committed to regulatory compliance, exceptional customer service, and delivering every load safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Kenworth 18-speed manual transmission truck with flatbed semi-trailers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Transport steel coils and skids, ensuring timely and secure deliveries.
- Secure cargo using chains and straps in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and address mechanical or safety concerns.
- Adapt to traffic, weather conditions, and route changes while maintaining schedules.
- Ensure full compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid CDL-Class A license
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience hauling steel
- Minimum of two (2) years of flatbed driving experience
- Proficiency in operating an 18-speed manual transmission
- Experience securing loads using chains and straps
- Clean driving record with no recent moving violations
- Ability to pass DOT-required background checks and drug screenings
Compensation & Benefits
- Sign on Bonus: $1000 at 90 days, $1000 at 180 days
