Do you want to be part of transforming HR business processes? The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) is seeking a hard-working, resourceful, and enthusiastic Analyst to support mission-driven work in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent customer service. The HR Support Analyst primary role is to assist with CalRecycle HR with the California State Payroll System (CSPS) Project including, but not limited to activities such as data validation, employee record cleanup, business process analysis, and policy and procedure updates to ensure departmental readiness for system conversion. The Analyst also participates in system testing, project coordination, and collaboration with statewide partners to support a smooth transition to the new HR, payroll, travel, and expense system. In addition to CSPS responsibilities, the analyst provides broader human resources support by conducting research, preparing recommendations, developing and updating HR policies and procedures, and assisting with unit projects as needed.
Beginning July 1, 2026, CalRecycle staff will be office centered, requiring employees to report to the office at least four days per week. This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program needs. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the positions designated headquarter location, as reflected on the duty statement and at their own expense.
