Spear Redefined is searching for Home Health RN’s with an expertise in post op plastic surgery care within the Houston Metropolitan area. Must have at least 2 years experience in wound care, plastic surgery aftercare preferred. Our nurses provide post op care to clientele with focus on precise wound healing and comfort within their own homes.
we are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in post-operative care and wound management to join our dynamic healthcare team. This vital role involves providing expert nursing care to patients recovering from surgery, managing complex wound treatments, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Duties
- Assess patient conditions through comprehensive physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and detailed patient assessments to inform individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following strict aseptic techniques and medication protocols.
- Manage post-operative wounds by performing dressing changes, suturing, and utilizing advanced wound care techniques such as negative pressure therapy when appropriate.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement discharge planning, ensuring seamless transitions from hospital to home or long-term care facilities.
- Monitor for signs of acute pain or infection, providing timely interventions aligned with best practices in pain management and infection control standards.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients and their families on wound care procedures, medication administration, and recovery expectations to promote healing and prevent complications.
Skills
- Proven experience in post-operative nursing care with expertise in wound management, and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with advanced clinical procedures such as catheterization, ostomy care, and tube feeding.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems including but not limited to Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation methods relevant to surgical recovery and wound healing.
- Experience working across diverse settings such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, or home & community care environments.
- Ability to perform patient assessments involving vital signs measurement, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and physical examinations.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and infectious disease care standards to ensure patient safety.
- Skilled in managing acute pain cases using evidence-based pain management strategies.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for procedures, and medical documentation standards.

Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
