Special Education Teacher – Full-Time (12-Month)

Join a creative, mission-driven team at The Light House Learning Campus, a state-approved special education school dedicated to supporting students ages 5–22 with significant intellectual and developmental differences. Our program blends functional, student-centered academics with positive behavioral supports and community-based learning to promote growth in social communication, daily living skills, self-regulation, and pre-vocational development.
We’re looking for a certified Special Education Teacher who is passionate about helping students thrive in academic, vocational, and community settings.
What You’ll Do:
- Teach and support students across classroom, job, and community environments
- Build independence through meaningful, hands-on learning
- Lead and mentor a team of paraprofessionals
- Collaborate with families and staff to celebrate each student’s growth
What You Bring:
- CT K–12 Special Education Certification
- Experience with students who have intellectual, developmental, or behavioral challenges
- Creativity, flexibility, and a heart for individualized education
