Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly, supporting various projects and ensuring equipment longevity. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong mechanical background with hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders using electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.
- Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems to restore equipment to peak condition.
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire services, lubrication, and system inspections to prevent breakdowns.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques for assembly, fabrication, and repair work.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical diagnostics on construction machinery and industrial equipment.
- Maintain detailed service records, inspection logs, and repair documentation for all machinery serviced.
- Support heavy equipment operation when necessary by performing safety checks and ensuring proper functioning before use.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership or industrial background preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, forklifts, cranes, tractors, and farm machinery.
- Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting electrical systems and mechanical components effectively.
- Hands-on experience with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts and systems such as Caterpillar or similar brands.
- Strong background in diesel engine diagnostics, transmission repairs, welding, HVAC systems, suspension alignment, and tire service.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation safety standards and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high safety standards.

Pay: $22.00 - $45.00 per hour
