Bartender Job Summary

Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages including cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic options with precision and flair
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to ensure an exceptional customer experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with food safety standards
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Develop new beverage recipes and recommend drink pairings to enhance guest satisfaction
- Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, and assist with ordering to ensure smooth bar operations
- Uphold responsible alcohol service practices and adhere to all licensing regulations
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate catering events, banquets, or special functions
Requirements
- Proven experience as a bartender or in a similar food service role within the hospitality or food industry
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS for efficient transaction processing
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and professionally
- Demonstrated expertise in cocktail creation, wine knowledge, craft beer experience, and beverage recipe development
- Familiarity with food safety standards, food handling procedures, and basic math for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience in fine dining settings or brewing environments is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation to support bar management and catering needs

Cook Job Description
Tailgaters Bar & Grill is looking for a unique kind of Cook! At our bar, there is no hidden kitchen—you are right in the middle of the action, cooking and prepping food directly behind the bar in front of our customers. Because you are visible to our guests, we are looking for some people who love to smile, talk with people, and maintain a clean, organized workspace. If you enjoy the energy of a bar and want to be part of the guest experience, this is the perfect spot for you.
Responsibilities
- Showcase Cooking: Prepare and cook menu items (like our Burger of the Month!) directly behind the bar in view of guests.
- Guest Interaction: Engage with customers in a friendly, professional manner while managing the grill and fryers.
- Team Support: Act as a true partner to our bartenders—be ready to jump in and help run a drink or assist with quick tasks if things get backed up.
- Cleanliness: Maintain an exceptionally clean and organized workstation (since the guests see everything!).
- Duties: Manage kitchen morning prep and closing duties during late-night Friday and Saturday shifts (Cook hours vary from the week to the weekend and are dependent on the time of year).

- Availability: Looking for daytime, evening and weekend help.
