Liberty Park Eye Center is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused, and energetic Part-Time Pre/Post-Op Registered Nurse to join our growing ambulatory surgery center team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. Experience in ophthalmic surgery is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate is a skilled RN with strong assessment abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient experiences in a fast-paced outpatient surgical setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for surgery by conducting pre-operative assessments and reviewing medical histories.
- Verify physician orders, medications, allergies, and surgical consents.
- Educate patients and family members regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
- Monitor patients in the recovery phase and assess for post-operative complications.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.
- Experience in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), pre-op, post-op, PACU, perioperative services, or critical care preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
