Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Provider to deliver exceptional care and support to individuals in a home or community setting. This vital role involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and fostering a warm, respectful environment. As a Home Provider, you will play a key part in enhancing the quality of life for those with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, aging-related conditions, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Responsibilities
- Provide personalized care to residents, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient behavior, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary.
- Maintain accurate care plans and documentation related to patient care, medication administration, and incident reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support residents in engaging with their community through social activities and recreational programs to promote well-being and independence.
- Ensure the safety of residents by adhering to safety protocols, including first aid procedures and emergency response plans such as CPR.
- Perform light cleaning duties and maintain a hygienic environment that meets health standards for home & community care settings.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or similar environments supporting individuals with disabilities or aging populations.
- Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with autism or neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Ability to assist with manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and the use of mobility aids like Hoyer lifts.
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and effective communication abilities.
- Certifications in CPR and First Aid are highly preferred; ongoing training in HIPAA compliance is essential.
- Experience supporting patients with intellectual disabilities or geriatrics is advantageous.
