We are expanding our commercial crew and looking for an experienced Foreman to join us long-term.
Job Description
Hackensack Roofing Company is seeking an experienced, dependable Commercial Roofing Foreman to lead our field crew. In this role, you will transition from hands-on installation to supervisory management on the job site. You will oversee daily operations, ensure safety compliance, and maintain our high standards of quality workmanship on flat commercial roofing projects.
Please note: This position includes a 3-month probationary period with a performance evaluation to assess skills, punctuality, and jobsite safety compliance for a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
- Crew Leadership: Manage daily site operations and delegate tasks to roofing laborers and journeymen.
- Site Safety: Enforce strict safety rules ensuring a hazard-free work environment.
- Quality Control: Oversee the installation of commercial systems (TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen).
- Project Coordination: Read blueprints, track job progress, manage material inventory on-site, and coordinate with management.
- Training: Mentor and train apprentice-level roofers on proper installation techniques and safety.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of commercial roofing experience required.
- Proven leadership experience as a foreman, crew lead, or senior journeyman.
- Deep technical knowledge of commercial roofing systems, flashing, and flat roof transitions.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients and inspectors.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification a plus.
