Our client operates a group of premier children’s swim schools serving families with children from infancy through elementary age. Their schools follow a proven, nationally recognized curriculum in a warm, engaging environment built around water safety, steady progress, and building confidence in every child.
This is a multi-location operator with a strong regional footprint and a track record of recognition within their franchise system.
Position Summary
As General Manager, you will lead all aspects of daily operations at the school, building and developing a high-performing team while delivering an exceptional experience for families and staff alike. This role is for a leader who knows how to coach a young, largely hourly workforce: someone who can hold a team accountable and keep them motivated, without swinging toward either extreme.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development

Recruit, schedule, train, and develop all staff; oversee payroll

Coach and mentor a predominantly young hourly team, setting clear expectations and holding staff accountable while maintaining strong morale and retention

Directly manage the Assistant General Manager and oversee Deck Supervisors and aquatics staff

Lead internal culture efforts to promote staff satisfaction and retention
Operational Leadership

Ensure daily operations follow brand standard operating procedures

Maintain and oversee facility and pool operations for cleanliness, safety, and scheduling accuracy

Direct and manage emergency and safety protocols, including staff training on the Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
Customer Experience, Sales and Marketing

Deliver a best-in-class customer service experience

Manage class scheduling, student progress tracking, and parent communication

Provide sales and marketing training and direction to the front desk and sales staff, with a focus on lead conversion

Own enrollment and performance goals; build and implement a plan when goals are not met

Oversee private party operations and ensure brand standards are maintained
Business Performance

Drive results against five key performance metrics: monthly revenue and payroll, and quarterly Net Promoter Score, conversion rate, and retention rate

Manage inventory, pricing, and product mix for retail and vending operations

Gain expertise in all technology used to manage bookings, reporting, and administrative tasks
Requirements
Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or related field preferred

3 to 5 years of management experience preferred, with demonstrated success leading and developing hourly teams

Experience as a youth sports instructor, camp counselor, or aquatics supervisor is a plus. Aquatics experience is welcome but not required; we will train the right leader

Lifeguard, CPR, AED, and First Aid certification and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license required after hire

Compensation and Benefits

Annual Salary: $75,000 to $85,000
