Floor Care Technician — Norfolk, VA
Pay: $20-25/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, evenings
Location: In person, Norfolk and surrounding Hampton Roads area
Torus Cleaning is seeking an experienced Floor Care Technician to maintain and restore a range of hard and soft floor surfaces across our commercial accounts. This is hands-on, skilled work for someone who takes pride in a finished floor and knows the difference the right pad, chemical, and technique make.
What you’ll do:
- Strip, wax, and burnish VCT
- Clean and maintain terrazzo, LVP, polished concrete, tile, and grout
- Carpet care: hot water extraction, encapsulation, and spot treatment
- Operate and maintain floor equipment: auto-scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and extractors
- Mix and apply chemicals safely per label and SDS
- Move furniture and prep areas before and after service
- Communicate job status and any issues to the supervisor
What we’re looking for:
- Prior floor care experience required, including strip-and-wax and carpet extraction
- Working knowledge of floor types and the correct method for each
- Comfortable operating and troubleshooting floor machines
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for the full shift
- Reliable transportation; valid driver’s license a plus if traveling between sites
- At least 18 years old, authorized to work in the U.S.
- Able to pass a background check
- Dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision
