JOB DESCRIPTION
Strategic Kids offers a variety of programs for after-school enrichment in and around the Seattle area for students in elementary schools. This position is looking for fun-loving applicants who want to work with kids in teaching life skills through the ancient game of chess!
EXPERIENCE
Applicants should have some experience with chess; however, comprehensive training is offered, so even those new to chess can and will succeed in this role. Working/volunteering with children in some capacity is a must. Preferred experience includes teaching groups of elementary age children, classroom management skills, and the ability to have a fun and upbeat personality.
WORK SCHEDULE
Classes take place after school 3-5 days a week and usually between 12:00-4:00 PM with some exceptions. Classes are in schools and meet weekly for about eight weeks before restarting with new kids. Classes are usually 60 minutes each.
Compensation
$25 per hour + mileage reimbursement.
We pay at an hour and half for every hour class taught, as you are expected to be available 15 minutes before and after class.
MATERIALS
All Materials are provided by Strategic Kids as well as training and curriculum for the classes.
REQUIREMENTS
> 18 years old or older
> Speak English
> Have a reliable car to drive to assigned school(s)
> Pass Fingerprint Background check (paid for by Strategic Kids)
