Baker ( Busy Bagel Shop)
Pay: $19-$20/hour (after training)
Paid training: $15/hour for first 2 weeks if no prior bagel-baking experience
Schedule: 3:30 AM – 11:30 AM, 5 days/week (Sundays & Mondays off)

We’re a busy neighborhood bagel shop known for fresh bagels and made-from-scratch baked goods. We’re looking for a reliable baker to join our team and help keep our customers coming back for more.
Position Summary:
Your main role is to make sure bagels are baked and ready for the store each day. You’ll be responsible for baking all bagels and other baked goods, operating our revolving oven, and following proper boiling and baking procedures. This is a full-time, hands-on role that requires attention to quality, consistency, and food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure bagels are produced and baked on schedule to meet store demand
- Operate and monitor our revolving oven to maintain consistent bake quality
- Boil bagels according to shop procedures before baking to achieve the correct texture and finish
- Prepare doughs and batters according to recipes and daily production needs
- Produce a full range of baked goods (muffins, breads, pastries, etc.)
- Monitor oven times/temperatures and adjust as needed to ensure consistent quality
- Maintain accurate production records and follow recipe yields
- Clean and maintain baking equipment and work areas; follow sanitation and safety standards
- Help manage inventory of ingredients and notify management when supplies run low
- Work cooperatively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely product availability
Qualifications:
- Previous commercial baking experience preferred; bagel-making experience a plus
- Experience operating revolving ovens and boiling bagels preferred
- If you do not have prior experience, paid training is available at $15/hr for the first two weeks
- Comfortable working early morning hours and standing for extended periods
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe or equivalent a plus)
- Ability to follow recipes, measure accurately, and maintain consistency
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability
- Good communication and teamwork skills
