We are seeking a dependable and experienced Class B Tri-Axle Truck Driver to join our growing team. This position involves hauling aggregate materials, construction debris, asphalt, and other materials to and from construction sites and dumps throughout the Greater Boston area. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and has extensive knowledge of Boston truck routes and construction traffic patterns.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class B tri-axle dump truck throughout the Greater Boston area.
- Transport materials to and from construction sites in a safe and timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues.
- Secure loads and ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, inspection reports, and required documentation.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, project managers, customers, and job site personnel.
- Keep the truck clean and presentable inside and out.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance and promptly report mechanical concerns.
- Follow all company, state, and federal safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience hauling materials in a dump truck or similar commercial vehicle.
- Thorough knowledge of Boston-area truck routes, weight restrictions, and construction zones.
- Clean driving record with the ability to meet company insurance requirements.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and participate in the company's random drug and alcohol testing program in accordance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Ability to pass all required DOT physical examinations.
- Strong work ethic with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and safely in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Comfortable operating in heavy traffic and navigating congested city streets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience hauling asphalt, gravel, sand, stone, and construction materials.
- Familiarity with MassDOT regulations and local construction sites.
- Experience working with contractors.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb in and out of the truck multiple times per day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely perform all physical duties required of commercial truck drivers.
