Overview
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Host to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional guest services and will play a vital role in creating memorable dining experiences. As a Host/Server, you will be responsible for welcoming guests, taking orders, and ensuring that every patron receives top-notch hospitality.
Duties
- Greet and seat guests promptly upon arrival, ensuring a warm welcome.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately using the Toast POS system.
- Provide detailed information about menu items and daily specials to assist guests in their selections.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including tables and service stations.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
- Address guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism to enhance guest relations.
- Assist with food service duties as needed, including serving food and beverages to tables.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations and excellent customer service.
Qualifications

- Organized, calm, and professional under pressure
- Comfortable setting the tone for both guests and staff
- Previous experience in the restaurant or food service industry is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Toast, is a plus.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Expo:
- Ticket Management
- Organize and prioritize incoming orders.
- Ensure the kitchen is firing tickets in the correct order.
- Communicate modifications, allergies, or special requests clearly to cooks.
- Quality Control
- Check every plate for presentation, portion, temperature, and accuracy.
- Make sure all sides, condiments, and garnishes are correct and included.
- Wipe plate edges and ensure plates look consistent with restaurant standards.
- Timing & Coordination
- Make sure all items for a table are ready at the same time.
- Coordinate between line cooks and servers to ensure smooth service flow.
- Keep an eye on ticket times to prevent delays.
- Communication
- Act as the bridge between kitchen staff and servers.
- Relay messages efficiently — calm and clear, even during rushes.
- Notify servers when orders are ready and ensure food is run promptly.
- Organization & Cleanliness
- Keep the expo window neat, restocked (plates, ramekins, garnishes, etc.).
- Help maintain a clean and efficient pass line.
