Role
Atma Build Co is the in-house construction company for a privately held technology company. We seek an experienced architect to design a variety of commercial projects in central and south Texas. This in-office position is pivotal in ensuring that our physical spaces reflect our company culture and support our operational needs. Upcoming projects include a large office building in Edinburg, an office renovation in Austin, a custom factory in Hidalgo County, and a small office building in New Braunfels.
Skills
- Texas licensure required
- familiar with permit and regulation requirements, including ADA accessibility, MEP, structural, solar, etc.
- comfortable and adept at communicating and collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders: senior leadership, operations, IT, engineers, builders, project managers, contractors, etc.
- able to independently detail and execute construction documents
- preference for traditional buildings and materials (we typically eschew modern architecture in favor of historical designs informed by the region)
- preferred: proficient in SketchUp or similar design software
- preferred: proficient in AI tools (Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, etc.) to leverage efficiency
Responsibilities
Our top performers don’t let their job title or assigned responsibilities limit their contribution to the company. Responsibilities are not restricted to:
- collaborate to design multiple structures (office buildings, warehouses, gazebos, pavilions, more) and their surrounding landscapes; iterate often over time to achieve the best possible design
- review and analyze construction plans to ensure they meet permit, regulatory, and quality specifications and standards
- regularly spend time at job sites to ensure that work is being executed according to plans and specifications
- identify and resolve quality issues with the construction team
- travel to Del Valle, New Braunfels and the RGV as needed for ongoing projects
