Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines using schematics, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals, and electrical/automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and construction machinery.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs.
- Service and repair hydraulic systems, air brakes, transmissions, suspensions, HVAC systems, and tire services to ensure optimal performance of all machinery.
- Utilize heavy equipment operation skills for troubleshooting and testing machinery post-repair; perform alignment and calibration to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and ensure compliance with safety standards during all maintenance activities.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform welding or assembly work as required for equipment repair or fabrication projects.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with heavy equipment or automotive repair highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in diesel engine diagnostics, electrical diagnostics, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and OEM manuals for accurate troubleshooting and repairs.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques and fabrication methods.
- Experience servicing construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, farm machinery and industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining precision in repairs; excellent customer service skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation for testing purposes; knowledge of construction equipment servicing is advantageous.
