Cosmo Cabinets is a family-owned manufacturer of frameless and framed kitchen and bath cabinets based in Eatonton, GA. We run 350,000 sq ft of production space, build 1,000 cabinets a day, and ship nationally to the multi-family, single-family, student housing, affordable housing, build-to-rent, and senior living markets. Every box is built in the USA.
We operate two full production lines — frameless and framed — We’re looking for a Process Engineer who can drive improvement across both.
You will own the methods, cycle times, layouts, and tooling behind how we build cabinets — across both our frameless and framed production lines. You’ll spend most of your time on the floor — at the CNC cells, edge banding lines, and assembly stations — not behind a desk. Both lines are running: your job is to make them run better with process improvement projects.
We are in a position to sponsor an H-1 B visa for a deserving candidate.
Responsibilities Include-
Lead process improvement projects across both the frameless and framed production lines — CNC routing, edge banding, lamination, face-frame assembly, and finishing; quantify the before-and-after impact on throughput and cost
-
Identify and close gaps in standard work, cycle times, and line balance across both production lines; ensure methods are consistent and documented
-
Develop and maintain standard work documentation — SOPs, TPMs, time studies, and job instructions — for all production cells
-
Lead 5S and Kaizen events on targeted production areas; track results against measurable baselines
-
Design production fixtures, tooling, and parts; produce shop drawings and 2D layouts in CAD (AutoCAD or equivalent
-
Build and maintain Excel-based tracking tools for OEE, scrap rates, cycle times, and labor efficiency — then use those numbers to drive decisions
-
Partner with Quality on in-process inspection points and defect-reduction initiatives
-
Develop capital justifications for equipment and tooling upgrades; present ROI analysis to Plant Manager
Required Skills-
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering (required); Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering considered with relevant experience
-
Advanced MS Excel skills — pivot tables, data validation, formula-based dashboards, and analysis from raw production data
-
Hands-on experience in a high-volume discrete manufacturing environment; cabinet, furniture, or wood products experience is a strong plus
-
Working knowledge of lean tools: 5S, standard work, kaizen, VSM, root cause analysis
-
Ability to produce plant layout drawings and basic part drawings in AutoCAD or similar CAD tool
-
Strong communicator — comfortable presenting data to plant management and working directly with operators and supervisors on the floor
-
Comfortable operating in a modern ERP system for routing, BOM management, and engineering changes
Preferred
-
Direct experience in kitchen or bath cabinet manufacturing — frameless, face-frame, or both
-
CNC programming experience (Homag, Biesse, or comparable platform)
-
Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
Compensation & Benefits-
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
-
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
-
401(k) with company match
-
Paid time off and company holidays
-
H1B Visa sponsorship available for qualified candidates
-
Relocation assistance considered for out-of-area candidates
