Commercial Door Systems Installer – Travel Required
Who We Are
United Contractor Services self-performs commercial interior construction on projects across the country. Our Division 8 & 10 Specialties group handles hollow metal frames, doors, hardware, and finish installation from rough-in through final punch. We hire tradespeople who take the details seriously and finish what they start.
The Work
This is a traveling field position installing doors, frames, and hardware on commercial jobsites. You will set and hang hollow metal and wood doors, install hinges, closers, locksets, exit devices, and related hardware, and adjust everything until it swings, latches, and seals the way the specs call for. Expect to work from hardware schedules and door schedules, coordinate with the GC and other trades, and travel to project sites for extended stretches.
What You'll Do

Hang doors square, plumb, and true, with correct clearances and reveals

Install hinges, closers, locksets, exit devices, thresholds, and weatherstripping per the hardware schedule

Field-adjust and troubleshoot existing hardware to correct operation

Work from blueprints, door and hardware schedules, and shop drawings

Coordinate installation sequencing with the superintendent and field leadership

Keep the work area clean, protected, and compliant with site safety requirements

Represent UCS professionally in front of the GC, owner, and other trades
What You Bring

Hands-on experience installing commercial door hardware

Working knowledge of hollow metal frames, door systems, and hardware specifications

Ability to read blueprints and interpret hardware schedules

Own hand tools and the ability to troubleshoot in the field without hand-holding

Willingness to travel and work away from home for extended periods

Valid driver's license and dependable transportation

OSHA 10 or 30 a plus; formal hardware training or certification a plus
