The Perch is Hinata Retreat’s new upscale restaurant and lounge offering guests thoughtfully prepared food, craft beverages, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We are looking for a skilled, personable dishwasher to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality, knows their way around a restaurant, and thrives in a dynamic environment.
Job Summary
As our Dishwasher, you'll be essential to keeping our kitchen running smoothly. You’ll handle the washing and sanitizing of all kitchenware, maintain a clean work area, support back‑of‑house operations, and promote safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Scrape, rinse, and load dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and glassware into the commercial dishwashing machine
- Hand‑wash large, delicate, or non‑dishwasher‑safe items
- Clean, sanitize, and regularly maintain dish‑machine and sinks
- Organize, stack, and return clean items to their designated storage areas
- Maintain dish area cleanliness: sweep and mop floors, empty trash and recycling
- Check dishwashing supplies (soap, rinse aid) and notify supervisor when low
- Assist with kitchen prep and minor cleaning tasks during slower periods
- Report damaged equipment or health and safety hazards promptly
Qualifications
- Prior dishwashing or back‑of‑house experience is a plus, but not required; on‑the‑job training provided
- Physical stamina: able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy trays of dishes
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to support others, described as a “team‑player” in Perch reviews
- Basic understanding of hygiene and food‑safety standards
- Ability to follow instructions, adapt swiftly in busy times, and communicate clearly with kitchen staff
Working Conditions
- Fast‑paced, sometimes high‑pressure environment (especially during peak service)
- Hot, wet, and occasionally loud; safety protocols are strictly enforced
- Must be available for flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: approximately $18–$20/hr, based on experience
- Team‑oriented atmosphere with strong peer support
