Position Overview
We are looking for a proactive leader who is comfortable making decisions, holding teams accountable, managing difficult conversations, and taking ownership of outcomes.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, creating accountability, and helping organizations scale through strong execution.
This role serves as the operational bridge between clients, project managers, sales teams, and engineering leadership. You will oversee project onboarding, resource planning, project delivery, client communication, and operational processes while helping ensure projects and products are delivered successfully. Serve as the primary escalation point for client concerns, delivery challenges, and project risks. Coordinate and hold accountable delivery leaders across U.S. and Nepal teams to ensure commitments, deadlines, and client expectations are met.
This is a leadership and operations role focused on people, execution, accountability, and customer success rather than hands-on software development. Note: some morning and evening hours required to coordinate with our team in Nepal.
Responsibilities:
Operations Leadership
- Own delivery operations across all client engagements.
- Develop and improve operational processes, reporting, forecasting, and resource planning.
- Maintain visibility into project health, team utilization, profitability, and delivery risk while ensuring issues are addressed before they impact clients.
- Drive accountability across project management, engineering, and delivery teams.
- Build a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Client Delivery
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Lead project kickoff meetings, status reviews, and executive discussions.
- Ensure clients receive proactive communication regarding project progress, risks, and deliverables.
- Manage escalations and drive successful project outcomes.
- Act as a primary point of contact for client relationships, reducing reliance on executive leadership for day-to-day project communication and issue resolution.
Project & Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor project managers and project coordinators.
- Establish project management standards and best practices.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Monitor project health, profitability, and delivery performance.
- Monitor utilization, capacity, and delivery effectiveness.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Assist with roadmap planning, release coordination, and resource allocation.
Sales Pipeline & Project Onboarding
- Maintain visibility into the sales pipeline and upcoming projects.
- Participate in discovery meetings, project planning, and proposal discussions.
- Assist with project estimates, statements of work, and implementation planning.
- Lead project onboarding and ensure smooth transitions from sales to delivery.
Qualifications:
Required
- 5+ years of experience in project management, operations, client services, or professional services leadership.
- Experience leading teams and managing direct reports.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and customer service.
- Comfortable having difficult conversations and holding teams accountable to commitments.
Preferred
- Experience within technology consulting, software development, data warehousing, business intelligence, or professional services organizations.
- Experience managing distributed or international teams.
- Experience participating in project scoping, resource planning, and sales support activities.
You will be successful if you:
- Clients trust Devfinity as a strategic partner.
- Clients ask for you before they ask for the CEO.
- Projects consistently launch on time and within budget.
- Team members understand priorities and are accountable for results.
- Resource needs are forecasted before they become problems.
- Client satisfaction and retention remain high.
- Delivery operations scale without increasing founder involvement.
- Leadership has visibility into project health, capacity, utilization, and risk.
- The organization becomes more efficient, predictable, and self-sustaining.
This role offers significant growth opportunities for someone interested in helping build and scale a growing technology consulting organization.
