Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. This role involves assisting individuals in their daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence within a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to individual-centered care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, or long-term care settings is highly valued. Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid, Developmental Disabilities, Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and hospice care procedures
- Monitor and document individuals ’ health status, vital signs, and behavioral changes in accordance with care plans
- Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and facility protocols
- Provide observation and ensure safety during activities and transitions
- Follow care plans meticulously while adapting to individual needs and preferences
- Engage individuals in social activities to promote mental well-being and community involvement
Qualifications
- Ability to pass a background check required.
- Prior experience working with people with developmental disabilities or in home care settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, vital signs, medication administration, and HIPAA regulations required
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid required
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with diverse populations including those with disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Ability to work flexible hours including shifts that may involve evenings or weekends if needed
