Duties
- Perform radiographic inspections using X-ray equipment in accordance with industry standards such as ASME codes & NADCAP standards.
- Interpret and analyze radiographic images IN DIGITAL FORMAT to detect surface and subsurface flaws or defects in materials and assemblies.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings with precision and clarity for quality control purposes.
- Maintain calibration and proper functioning of X-ray equipment, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to review schematics, technical drawings, and assembly instructions for accurate inspections.
- Conduct quality assurance checks by verifying adherence to specifications during production processes involving surface mount technology and mechanical assembly.
- Collect data systematically during inspections to support analysis, trending, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques, particularly in Digital Radiography using X-ray technology.
- Strong understanding of ASME codes & NADCAP standards related to radiographic inspection and quality assurance.
- Proficiency with schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical diagrams for accurate interpretation during inspections.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, soldering tools, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Mechanical knowledge applicable to manufacturing processes including surface mount technology, assembly, and quality control procedures.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and document inspection data efficiently for quality inspection reports.
- Familiarity with quality assurance practices including defect detection, root cause analysis, and process improvement strategies.
