Job Description
Torna Medical Center is seeking a qualified and reliable X-Ray / Ultrasound Technician to join our healthcare team. The technician will be responsible for performing routine diagnostic imaging procedures, operating imaging equipment safely and efficiently, preparing patients for examinations, and providing professional and compassionate patient care.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to patient safety and quality of care.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine X-ray and ultrasound examinations according to established protocols.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures and explain the examination process.
- Operate X-ray and ultrasound equipment safely and properly.
- Obtain and maintain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Follow radiation safety, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
- Accurately document procedures and patient information in the EMR/EHR system.
- Upload, organize, and maintain imaging studies through the PACS system.
- Maintain equipment and promptly report any technical or operational issues.
- Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and healthcare staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
- Provide a respectful, compassionate, and professional patient experience.
Qualifications
- Current certification, license, or credential appropriate for the imaging services performed.
- Previous experience as an X-Ray and/or Ultrasound Technician preferred.
- Knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and patient safety standards.
- Ability to operate imaging equipment effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Commitment to maintaining professional standards and patient confidentiality.
