For more than 20 years, Herdis has been part of the Northampton beauty community. Today, our salon welcomes more than 600 hair guests every month, creating an extraordinary built-in audience for an esthetician who knows how to develop relationships, make thoughtful recommendations and turn first-time guests into long-term clients.
We are ready to expand and reimagine our spa program, and we are looking for an esthetician who is excited to help us do it.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who loves skincare and guest service but also has an entrepreneurial side. You should be comfortable building your clientele through the guests already coming through our doors, your own professional and personal network, social media, referrals and community relationships.
Herdis will provide the platform, marketing support and an established brand. You should bring the energy and initiative to make the opportunity your own.
What You'll Help Build
This role goes beyond performing services.
We want your perspective as we evaluate our existing spa menu, refine service protocols, explore new treatments and research professional skincare and retail lines. You will have an opportunity to help shape what the next generation of Herdis Spa looks like.
You will also work closely with our salon team to create natural connections between hair and spa services. With hundreds of guests already visiting Herdis each month, there is significant opportunity to introduce those clients to skincare, waxing, lashes and other services.
What You'll Do
As a Herdis Esthetician, you will:
- Perform professional skincare and esthetic services, including facials, peels, waxing, lash lifts and tints, and other services based on training and certification
- Deliver a warm, elevated and highly personalized guest experience
- Conduct thoughtful consultations and recommend services based on each guest's goals
- Educate guests about the professional products used during their services and recommend appropriate home care
- Build and retain a loyal clientele through exceptional service, referrals, rebooking, social media and community engagement
- Collaborate with our leadership team on spa services, protocols, pricing and product offerings
- Research emerging treatments, techniques and professional skincare lines
- Track your performance, including retention, rebooking, retail and demand on your time
- Maintain impeccable treatment-room standards and contribute to a clean, welcoming salon and spa environment
- Work collaboratively with our hair team to identify opportunities to introduce existing Herdis guests to spa services
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is career-minded, confident, curious and self-directed.
Ideally, you have 2+ years of professional esthetics experience and have reached the point in your career where you understand that building a successful book requires more than technical skill. You enjoy connecting with people, creating trust and developing relationships that keep guests coming back.
You should be comfortable promoting your work on social media and building your professional presence beyond the treatment room. You don't need to arrive with a completely full clientele, but you should be excited by the idea of building one.
Most importantly, we want someone who sees opportunity where other people see a job description.
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts Esthetician License
- 2+ years of professional esthetics experience preferred
- Strong consultation and customer-service skills
- Demonstrated interest in client development and retention
- Comfortable using social media professionally to showcase your work and build clientele
- Strong retail and product-recommendation skills
- Organized, dependable and able to work independently
- Collaborative and comfortable working as part of a larger salon team
Additional certifications such as lash extensions, lash lift and tint, advanced skincare treatments or other complementary modalities are a plus.
