We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HVAC Commercial Lead Technician for commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) service operations. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of technicians, oversee complex HVAC system installations, repairs, and maintenance projects across commercial properties. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a team of HVAC technicians on commercial service projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion of work.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex HVAC systems, including refrigeration units, building automation systems, and mechanical equipment using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and specialized tools such as ohmmeters.
- Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC equipment including boilers, air conditioning units, and mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations such as EPA certifications for refrigerant handling and proper use of welding equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, system diagnostics, repairs performed, and parts used for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
Skills
Construction experience with a focus on HVAC system installation and repair in commercial settings.
- Proven service technician experience with strong mechanical knowledge across diverse systems including HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and boiler operation.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans effectively.
- Skilled in troubleshooting electrical issues using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters; proficient in refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration.
- Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) for integrated control of mechanical systems.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; driver’s license with a clean driving record is preferred for site visits.
- Strong problem-solving abilities combined with excellent communication skills to coordinate with clients and team members effectively.
- Experienced with chilled water, pumps, cooling towers and commerical DX systems.
Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
