Description:
PLAYtime, a non-profit literacy program through the Erie Playhouse is seeking 2 qualified facilitators for part-time positions. PLAYtime deliver, a read-aloud interactive story time which uses the arts as a vehicle for this learning to 145 classrooms once a week. We are seeking 2 teachers, 1 who will focus on Preschool sites in our area delivering to 3-4 year olds and 4-5 year olds, and 1 who will focus on PreK, K, and 1 st grade lessons in our Erie City Schools.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare provided lesson plans and materials to create a 30-minute cohesive experience for the students and their teacher.
- Lead each classroom through a shared reading experience, 6-9 30-minute sessions daily, 2-4 days a week
- Maintain student focus and have a “bag of tricks” in classroom management
- Maintain excellent relationships with the classroom teachers.
- Communicate through email with the teachers and keep them current on PLAYtime happenings.
- Attend workshops led by PLAYtime coordinator to assemble and learn skills unique to the program.
- Report weekly your classroom assessments and hours.
- Provide support for the Holiday Sing-along, a Virtual Episode, and the Playtime Show live onstage.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 2 years of experience working with young children
- Must feel comfortable with the arts and expressing them with children, visual, movement, drama, and singing.
- Must have your own car and be able to drive yourself to various locations in one day.
- Must have a smart phone available for use. This is to play music for the lessons.
- Must have a sunny disposition, be flexible and professional.

- Hourly wage starts at $22.00 hourly and builds to $26.00 based on reviews.

- Hourly wage extends to allotted time for preparation of lessons, and recording assessments as well as workshop time.

- One free ticket per production to any regular show at the Erie Playhouse.

Interviewing July 23-25, to be filled the first week in August with gradual acclimation into the program during the months of August and September for the upcoming year.
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
