Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in commercial, industrial, and construction settings
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical installations
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete wiring tasks and system upgrades
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults quickly
- Follow National Electrical Code (NEC) standards to ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality benchmarks
- Collaborate with construction teams, frame carpenters, and other tradespeople during renovation or new build projects
- Conduct low voltage and high voltage wiring installations while maintaining safety protocols at all times
- Read blueprints and schematics accurately to plan wiring layouts for complex systems
- Perform routine inspections on electrical systems to prevent failures and ensure ongoing safety
Skills
- Proven experience as a residential or commercial electrician with strong knowledge of electrical systems and codes
- Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams for accurate installations
- Hands-on experience with hand tools (e.g., pliers, screwdrivers) and power tools (e.g., drills, saws) for electrical work
- Ability to work safely on construction sites with high voltage and low voltage systems while following OSHA guidelines
- Strong troubleshooting skills using diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters or multimeters
- Experience with renovation projects involving electrical upgrades or rewiring in existing structures
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards for safe electrical practices
- Construction site experience with the ability to adapt quickly to changing environments
- Basic handyman skills for minor repairs related to electrical systems or framing carpentry tasks
