Job description:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Floater to join our team! We hope to find a candidate with a background in early childcare and a love for helping children grow. As a Full Time Floater, you will assist to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the social, emotional, and cognitive development of our students. Your role in collaboration with the lead and assistant teachers, will involve daily support for classroom teachers, evening care for the classroom, promoting positive behavior, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
Responsibilities
- Providing daily breaks to full-time lead teachers and assistants during the day. This includes morning 10 minute breaks and afternoon 30 minute lunches.
- Supporting the staff in creating a positive classroom environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and respect among students.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Follow a daily schedule that ensures children have adequate time for play, routine care, and learning activities.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to support the overall goals of the preschool program.
- Communicate and update parents throughout the day using the Brightwheel Communications app.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- TB Skin Test
- Previous experience working with toddler-age children, preferably within a preschool or daycare setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families.
- A patient, nurturing demeanor with the ability to manage classroom behavior effectively.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive environment for all children.
- Physical ability to sit on the floor and engage with children, as well as lifting children up for routine care/comfort.
