Position Summary
From critically acclaimed Chef Sameh Wadi, Saffron is reopening this year in Northeast Minneapolis, with a menu and experience deeply rooted in Palestinian culture. The restaurant will be a celebration of culture, resilience, and hospitality: the ultimate dinner party you want to be invited to, where abundance, generosity, and connection define the experience.
We are assembling a team of the best bartenders in the industry to create an exceptional, warm, and welcoming guest experience at Saffron and create a world-class bar program. Bartenders have a vast knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and wine. Bartenders are responsible for balancing the needs of many different guest experiences while seated or standing at the bar. Bartenders are also responsible for executing all beverage tickets, managing all well orders, as well as remaining attentive and providing excellent hospitality to the guests seated at the bar.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, thoughtful, attentive service to bar guests from arrival through departure
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and cultural context, as well as comprehensive knowledge ingredients and technique used in all house cocktails, and complete understanding of standardized recipes for classic and contemporary cocktails
- Creating all cocktails for bar guests and well beverages for all bar guests
- Make thoughtful food and beverage pairing recommendations
- Execute proper service techniques (e.g., coursing, wine service, table maintenance)
- Maintain clean, organized dining and mise-en-place areas
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and professionally
- Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure seamless service
- Communicate all dietary and allergy restriction info to the kitchen
- Handle guest concerns with discretion and a solution-oriented approach
- Process orders and payments accurately using POS systems
- Maintain a cash drawer
- Be a team player and assist other floor staff when necessary
- Be relaxed, but alert and efficient
- Be yourself, develop your own tableside manner, and avoid using the same speech/ phrases for every table you interact with
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience in an upscale restaurant setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, wine, beverage service, and bartending tools and technique
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Passion for hospitality and guest experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry trays up to 25–40 lbs
