Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Purchasing Agent to join our procurement team. The Purchasing Agent is responsible for generating purchase orders, maintaining vendor relations, analyzing, and fulfilling inventory requirements, communicating discrepancies with sales staff and planners, following up with vendors on existing orders to ensure on-time delivery.
To be successful as a Purchasing Agent, you should be able to critically assess suppliers, products, prices, lead times as well as any discrepancies that may arise. Here at Summit Pump, we pride ourselves in delivering quality product on time. Due to global sourcing, it is imperative that we follow up with our vendors to ensure timely delivery of their product.
Responsibilities
- Develop profitable purchasing strategies
- Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance with terms
- Analyze and resolve purchasing issues/discrepancies in a timely fashion
- Review supplies to ensure quality
- Monitor stock levels
- Prepare and submit detailed reports
- Monitor Harmonized Tariff Codes, updating in database as required
- Keep updated records
- Build and develop long-term relationships with suppliers
Requirements
- Previous working experience as a Purchasing Agent or similar customer service field
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system
- Hands-on experience related to Harmonized Tariff Codes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365/General computer skills
- Problem solver with a strong analytical mindset
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Reliable
Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
