About the Role
Skyline Estimating Solutions is a rapidly growing insurance supplement company that partners with roofing contractors nationwide. We are seeking an experienced Xactimate Supplement Writer to join our team full-time.
This position focuses exclusively on writing high-quality Xactimate estimates. You will review documentation, photos, and carrier estimates to identify missed scope and prepare comprehensive, well-supported supplement estimates. Our Claims Operations team handles carrier communication and follow-up, allowing you to focus on producing accurate estimates.
This is a fast-paced, production-driven role that requires exceptional attention to detail, strong construction knowledge, and the ability to consistently produce quality work under deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Write detailed Xactimate estimates for residential and commercial property claims.
- Review insurance carrier estimates and identify missing scope, code-required items, and pricing discrepancies.
- Review inspection photos, reports, and contractor documentation to ensure estimate accuracy.
- Prepare complete, well-documented supplement estimates using supporting documentation, manufacturer specifications, and applicable building codes.
- Accurately document claim information within our CRM and internal systems.
- Manage multiple files simultaneously while maintaining quality and turnaround expectations.
- Work closely with the Claims Operations team to ensure files are complete before submission.
- Stay current on Xactimate updates, construction practices, and applicable building codes.
Qualifications
- 2–3+ years of hands-on Xactimate experience (required).
- Previous experience writing roofing and exterior insurance supplements.
- Strong understanding of residential and commercial construction.
- Working knowledge of IRC, IBC, manufacturer installation requirements, and insurance claim procedures.
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Xactimate, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM software.
