The Club At Sonterra is looking for a talented individual to become part of our family working as the Kitchen leader for our Member Grill. We prefer experience as a Sous Chef, Lead Cook or Kitchen Manager with knowledge in the preparation of traditional comfort food, unique sandwiches and salads as well as special request from membership. POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Sous Chef is responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in overseeing the day-to-day culinary operations at the club. They supervise the training and development of the kitchen staff to ensure the highest quality of food service for club members and their guests.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee recipe standardization
- Ensure plate presentation is correct and consistent
- Maintain inventory levels and assist Executive Chef with food and labor costs
- Maintain a well-organized kitchen in a clean and safe manner
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Culinary school graduate preferred
- Two years’ experience in supervisory position
- Understanding of a la carte and banquet revenue generation
- General knowledge of expense control as it relates to kitchen payroll and the forecasting/budgeting of expenses
- Technical literacy, including Microsoft Office, payroll management and point of sale systems
- Bilingual (English - Spanish) communication ability preferred.
- Interpersonal skills, sales/negotiating abilities, attention to detail, planning and organizational ability, experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, leadership and time management skills, self-motivated, driven and professional.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude at all times
- Must provide outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers

Job Duties:
- Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
