TITLE: Experienced Accountant
JOB CATEGORY: Accounting
POSITION TYPE: Full-Time
SALARY: $50,000 - $60,000 per year
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or higher
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- At least 5 years of accounting experience (required)
- At least 3 years of QuickBooks experience (required)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting:
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations for a nonprofit organization, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare and present monthly and annual financial statements to executive leadership and Board of Directors
- Oversee restricted and unrestricted fund accounting, ensuring proper allocation and compliance
- Develop and monitor annual budgets, analyzing variances and providing actionable recommendations
- Lead audit preparation, coordinating with external auditors to ensure successful outcomes
- Ensure compliance with IRS regulations, Form 990 reporting, and grant requirements
- Strengthen internal controls to reduce risk and improve financial accuracy
- Supervise junior accounting staff and provide training on nonprofit financial procedures
- Record financial data into QuickBooks (i.e. Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Revenues and Expenses)
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Posting journal entries
- Generating financial statement and variance reports
- Responding to client inquires
- Perform financial analysis and forecast of financial statements
- Creation of Financial Dashboard Template
- Create Internal Control procedures
- Formalize reconciliation procedures
- Provide a written summary of financial variances
- Make recommendation - policies, procedures, and best practices
- Other duties as assigned Tax Return Preparation:
- Preparation and filing of the following tax returns is a plus: 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065 & 990

- Location may vary depending on client requirements (most clients are local to the Greater Pittsburgh area)
