Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced bartender to join the fast-paced food service environment at one of Wilmington's newest restaurants- The Sounder. The Sounder is large a coastal-inspired restaurant that opened in December 2025, where the vibrant energy of the coast meets a sophisticated, yet comfortable dining and cocktail experience.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, seasoning, and assembling dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety protocols.
- Support food handling procedures to ensure proper storage, sanitation, and freshness of ingredients.
- Collaborate with team members during busy service hours to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Help with menu planning ideas and contribute to the development of new dishes or specials.
- Follow all health regulations and safety guidelines to promote a safe working environment for everyone.
Experience
- Previous kitchen experience in restaurants or catering environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques, including knife skills and meal assembly.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices.
- Experience working in dietary departments or with dietary aide responsibilities is a plus.
- Strong understanding of food industry operations, from cooking to serving.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm for learning new culinary skills and contributing positively to the team atmosphere.
