The Student Services Navigator position’s basic function is to assist students in the navigation of the college’s systems and processes, including but not limited to course schedules, registration, book selection, completion of forms, and finding resources. This position reports to the Campus Services Manager and primarily is located near the banks of computers near the student services areas. The position provides support not only in-person, but also online.
Responsibilities
Assist students with navigating processes including but not limited to how to register and get books, how to make a payment, starting the Pre-Registration Review (PRR) video, etc
Coordinate with other services to assist students in navigating WCC systems such as mywcc, canvas and Education Advisory Board (EAB) advising software.
Assist students in finding the online Canvas Orientation
Provide guidance in completing online forms, including but not limited to the New Student Application Form, Change of Major Form, Readmit Form, Student Information change Form, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Authorization Release of Information Form, QuickPath Application, Transcript Request Form, Student Account Appeal Form, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeal Form, Grade Forgiveness Application Form, etc…
Assist students in making service desk requests for technology
Assist students with making online appointments for academic advising and testing services.
Maintain general knowledge of college activities, programs, and requirements with the ability to refer inquiries to the appropriate personnel
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
A Waubonsee student enrolled in at least one credit.
Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or above.
Be in good standing with Student Conduct.
Be making Satisfactory AcademicProgress.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends as needed
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive material
