Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and refining existing recipes to enhance flavor profiles.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, stoves, and other appliances.
- Support food service operations by plating dishes attractively and timely for service.
- Follow all food safety regulations to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within the food industry or restaurant environment.
- Strong knife skills with the ability to handle multiple ingredients efficiently.
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, catering, and serving techniques.
- Excellent food handling skills with an emphasis on safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
