American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a 337-bed hospital in Charlotte, NC, requiring at least 18 months of Med/Tele experience and Epic proficiency.

Work in a 32-bed Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit at a 337-bed hospital in Charlotte, NC
-
Patient population includes stroke, seizure, altered mental status (AMS), generalized weakness, AKI/CKD, falls, cellulitis, and non-healing wounds

RN patient ratios are 1:5-6 (with potential surge increase to 1:7-8)

No telemetry remote monitoring — RN staff, charge nurse, and unit clerk are responsible for reading and posting telemetry every shift
-
12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week

Every other weekend rotation required

Floating is required within Region 2: Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, and Central Division (CMC Main, CMC Mercy, Levine Children's Hospital) — candidates must be agreeable to this requirement

IV Pumps: Alaris | Med Dispensing: Omnicell | Monitors: Philips | Communication: Rover

Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 18 months of Med/Surg Tele experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
-
Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation required

Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone) required

Epic EMR experience required

Must provide last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth for consideration

Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
-
Unit is supported by CNAs, a Receptionist/HUC, a free-floating charge nurse, 24/7 phlebotomy, 24/7 IV/VAT team, a unit-dedicated pharmacist, 2 case managers, a Med/Surg Clinical Nurse Specialist, 24/7 respiratory therapy (including nebulizer treatments), a nurse educator, 24/7 hospitalist, and APP support

Orientation includes facility-level (NEO) and 2 days of departmental orientation

Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays

RNs are required to wear navy blue scrubs
