This position provides skilled work of more than average difficulty in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical
equipment used in the drinking water treatment plants.
The purpose of this position is to ensure the reliable operation, safety, and efficiency of mechanical systems critical to the production and treatment of drinking water. This role performs highly skilled maintenance, installation, and repair of pumps, motors, lift stations, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, chlorine systems, generators, and related equipment that sustain continuous plant operations.
Through proactive inspection, technical expertise, and responsive troubleshooting, this position safeguards public health, supports regulatory compliance, minimizes downtime, and contributes to the long-term integrity of the City’s water infrastructure. This role also supports team development and operational excellence by mentoring crew members, maintaining accurate documentation, and identifying opportunities to improve plant performance.
Requires High School Diploma or GED equivalent with four (4) years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of water/wastewater treatment plants, heavy-duty pumping and auxiliary power equipment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid state Class C Driver’s License with an acceptable driving history

Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
