Job Summary:
This position is responsible for management and oversight of Construction Safety Operations. In addition, this role will have client interaction as well perform safety audits and safety consulting. The Construction Site Safety Supervisor is also expected to create and build client relationships and be in integral part of the development of PCM’s safety services. This role develops and facilitates the proposal process for specific clients/prospective clients including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations and client presentations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Construction Site Safety Supervisor will organize and oversee the operations of all Field Staff and lend expertise to the Finance, Estimating, and Business Development teams when necessary.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Review and understand the Site Construction Safety Plan
· Conduct the safety orientation training for all contractor and subcontractor personal
· Give input to and ensure the Site Construction Safety Plan is being followed
· Attend, audit, and at times lead daily safety meetings
· Attend and assist with technical risk assessment sessions
· Verify that all daily Job Safety Analysis meetings are occurring
· Conduct daily inspections for unidentified hazards and for permit adherence
· Overseeing safety for the construction site, GC, & workers driving to maintain ZERO recordable injuries
· To provide clear recommendations on the safe way to execute work to the PM as well as able to provide immediate feedback on the worksite during the active construction project
· Conduct “look ahead” meetings to determine major project activities and to plan accordingly for those construction projects ahead
· Attend site safety meetings with the PM as required
· Review and approval of permits in accordance with safety permitting authorization matrix
· Review and challenge of all GC safety plans & trainings
· Train and orientate all sub-contractors and persons that may come on site that will be doing construction or installation work on the premises
· Verify that all daily Job Safety Analysis meetings are occurring
· Inspect worksite and document findings in Safety Reports (One per day per work area)
· Manage corrective actions that would coming from the worksite inspections
· Ensure that all regional safety standards are being followed
· Immediately escalate any safety incidents to the PM
· Verify all contractors on site are qualified to work here
· Safety speeches ahead of critical activities that involve escalate risk
· Effects clear and consistent communication with the PM
· Collaborative work style - able to collaborate with different personalities to teach the safe way to execute work or to conduct a safety analysis of a project or sub-section of a project
· Able to confront unsafe behavior, but also to collaborate with construction craft to determine the best way to solve the problem and execute the work in a safe, quality fashion
· Track hours and permitting and complete period safety tracking log sheet
· Participate in a monthly safety review meeting
· Participate in design reviews and provide constructability input
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
