Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Block Mason to join our dynamic construction team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and execute complex masonry projects, ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship, safety, and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise masonry crews in the installation of concrete blocks, bricks, stone, and other building materials with precision and quality.
- Interpret construction plans, technical drawings, and blueprint specifications to ensure accurate execution of masonry work.
- Oversee rebar installation, concrete forming, finishing, and plastering processes to meet project standards.
- Coordinate with project managers and other trades to ensure timely delivery of materials such as mortar, caulking compounds, and trim carpentry components.
- Build masonry scaffolds safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety protocols and site regulations.
- Conduct quality control inspections on all masonry work, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while managing multiple tasks on active construction sites.
Experience
- Extensive masonry experience with a focus on concrete masonry units (CMUs), stone masonry, bricklaying, and restoration projects.
- Proven ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation related to masonry tasks, and construction site safety procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership experience supervising masonry teams or crews on large-scale projects.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes related to masonry materials and labor costs is a plus.
- Familiarity with building material installation including stucco, tile laying, roofing support structures, framing carpentry (including metal stud framing), and renovation work.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols specific to construction environments involving heavy equipment operation and scaffold building.
Requirements:
- Proven experience laying CMU/block and leading a masonry crew.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Reliable transportation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read plans and ensure quality workmanship.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-oriented.
