Since 1938, Allied Resource Recovery has been a locally owned and operated recycling company serving southeastern Wisconsin. Our two retail recycling locations provide outstanding customer service while helping our communities recycle responsibly.
We're looking for an Metal Recycling Scale Buyer to join our West Allis location. If you have any level of experience identifying, grading, and purchasing ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals and enjoy working with customers in a fast-paced environment, we'd like to meet you. We will train the right candidate who has some metals and customer service background.
What You'll Do
· Purchase ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals from the public.
· Provide outstanding customer service.
· Identify, inspect, grade, weigh, and accurately price incoming materials.
· Enter transactions into our computerized scale system.
· Sort and organize purchased materials.
· Operate a sit-down propane forklift (training provided if needed).
· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
· Assist team members in daily operations.
· Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
· Previous experience as a Metal Scale Buyer or similar position in the scrap metal recycling industry preferred.
· Working knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals would be a plus.
· Ability to identify common scrap metal grades.
· Strong customer service and communication skills.
· Basic computer skills.
