The Press Brake Operator sets up and operates press brake equipment to fabricate sheet metal parts according to engineering drawings and production specifications. This position works within the Form department and may assist with other manufacturing operations as business needs require.
What You'll Do:
- Set up and operate press brake equipment to produce parts that meet quality and dimensional specifications.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Calculate bend deductions and determine proper tooling and bend sequences.
- Measure and inspect parts using calipers and other precision measuring equipment.
- Work with decimal measurements and the metric system.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and identify production or quality issues.
- Maintain quality standards while meeting production goals.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company safety procedures and assist with other departmental tasks as needed, including overtime when required.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum of two years of press brake operation experience preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Experience using calipers and other precision measuring tools.
- Strong math skills, including decimal calculations and metric measurements.
- Positive attitude, strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and willingness to learn.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Work in a clean, air-conditioned manufacturing facility while wearing required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection as needed.
- Stand for extended periods and frequently bend, kneel, stoop, and use both hands throughout the workday.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 70 lbs. with assistance or lifting equipment.
