Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and food handling techniques
- Support meal planning and menu execution by preparing ingredients according to dietary guidelines and specifications
- Cook and assemble meals in accordance with safety standards, ensuring quality and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area by sanitizing surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly
- Serve food to customers or residents in a courteous and professional manner, adhering to food safety protocols
- Help with catering events or special meal services as needed, ensuring timely delivery of quality dishes
- Follow all food safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests
Skills
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly
- Experience with menu planning and understanding dietary restrictions or special diets
- Proven ability in food handling, sanitation, and safety practices within the food industry
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation for various cuisines or dietary needs
- Background in restaurant or kitchen environments demonstrating reliability and teamwork
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in food service operations
