Overview

Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, prosthodontics, and more.
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and ensure all dental equipment, including X-ray machines and 3D scanners, are ready for use.
- Take and process dental X-rays and medical imaging while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control policies.
- Manage clinical documentation accurately within EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental.
- Perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Conduct vital signs assessments and assist with oral surgery procedures while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Process dental instruments according to sterilization procedures and infection prevention management standards.
- Support the dental reception team by managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, and ensuring smooth patient flow.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies at all times while providing excellent patient care in pediatric or general dentistry settings.
Experience
- Experience is preferred, but not necessary! Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge or a dental assistant graduate.
- Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental for managing medical documentation and records.
- Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control expertise.
- Skilled in taking dental X-rays, operating medical imaging equipment including 3D scanners, and performing oral surgery assistance.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism in clinical confidentiality policies.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is a bonus.
